Our trip to Monemvasia ,the so called ‘Giblartar of the east’, starts from Porto Heli.
Fokianos bay, our first stop, is the ultimate rib boat destination for those who love to explore natural beauty, white big peddle beaches and turquoise crystal waters. Whether you are looking for a lazy day or a refreshing swim, the surrounding will create the perfect scenery to relax. Following the coast line south, we reach Kiparissi which is a hidden village between Parnon mountain and the open sea. The small village, surrounded by giant rocks and deep gorges, is not easily accessible by car, therefore the village has been able to preserve its character in time. Having enjoyed the sun and the sea and the wonderful landscape, you can reward yourself with a delicious feeling meal at the local tavernas by the sea.
Feeling impressed by Kyprasissi bay? Then, Monemvasia will be a truly unique experience. Monemvasia castle appears from the sea as a giant rock, linked to the mainland by a bridge. The name Monemvasia is derived from the Greek mone and emvasia meaning ‘single entrance’ and it’s the only castle that has never been ceased inhabited in Europe.
We cruise across the peninsula to reach the safe port of the romantic medieval town of Monemvasia. The town is built amphitheatrically on the hill of a slope and amazes visitors with its unique architecture, which is strongly influenced by the Venetians. The stone houses with the earthy colours, which are spread around the old Castle, with their wooden balconies and outdoor stairs, give the town a traditional charm.
Enjoy the evening exploring the old mythical town with the stunning views of the Myrto Sea, walk around the narrow alleys with the tiny souvenir shops and enjoy a dinner with local freshly-made dishes. End your evening with cocktails in the small charming bars, overlooking the open sea.
The following day, we depart from Monemvasia port and head towards Gerakas, which is a natural fiord on the south east side of Lakonia. Cruising in he narrow strip of sea, the land invades and as we cruise along we reach in a sheltered small port. With charming houses and tavernas. Along the way, the green scenery reflects on the blue waters creating a mirroring effect, simply unforgettable.
Before heading back to Portoheli, we stop at Vathi Avlaki, a true gem of Peloponnese, which is an undiscovered, hidden beach. This is the ultimate rib destination for those who are looking for the wildness of natural beauty, remote beaches accessible only by boat and for those who wish to explore sea paradise.
Full of colourful images, refreshing diving and unique scenery we return to Portoheli!!!!
